Robins fail to retake top spot after poor start

A win would have taken the Swindon Robins back to the top of the Sky Sports Elite League tonight - but a hat-trick of 5-1 defeats in the first four heats soon put payed to that.

 

A twelve point deficit that Swindon failed to recover from, eventually succumbing by fifteen.

 

The only high point of the evening being the return of Troy Bachelor after injury. The 20-year-old Australian, who broke his wrist four weeks ago, scoring three points, with a best finish of second in heat nine.

 

"That was a positive," commented team manager Alun Rossiter, "and it's good to see him back.

 

"But not much else was.

 

"The start killed us," he added, "and we never recovered."
